Lucas and his cars

It all started on Wednesday. I left Lucas with my mom, while I drove to Mannheim to do some things at the mailroom on post. When I came back, my mom told me that Lucas was a very good boy and playing all by himself the whole time. She said, he would take all the cars he could find and row them all up.

During the past couple of days, he continued doing that and practically he's doing it all day long in every room I go.

Yesterday morning he took some of his cars into the bathroom while I got dressed

Last night he did this until he had to go to bed

And by this morning he finally found most of his cars. I'm really wondering where he got the idea to put them all in a row like this. Maybe it's because the Lego Duplo cars connect that way.

While I hung up the wet clothes on the hanger, he took some cars into the bedroom

Having some Picture Fun in the morning

This morning I thought it was about time for some new pic of the two of us for Brian. Of course I will never get the picture perfect by taking them myself... But oh well... just see for yourself ;-)

Mama, fall over already

Haha, I bet I can wrestle you down, Mama
YAY, I got you

The pictures I take of myself always look stupid, but those should have to do for now Brian. At least you can see me this way ;-) I love you

Nice Day

My parents got me a shopping spree at the mall with my mom, for my birthday. So today was the day. Even though at first I thought it wouldn't happen. When I opened the shades in the morning, all I saw was everything covered in snow. I was still hoping, that it wouldn't be too bad. Lucas threw a fit right then, because he wanted to go outside and play in the snow in his PJ's... somehow I got to distract him. I guess we're getting closer and closer to the terrible two.... he's throwing fits more frequently when he doesn't get his way, like gummybears or other things he wants or wants me to do for him. He also got a little pickier when it comes to food. He used to eat everything and about a week ago he started licking off the jam of his bread in the morning or biting of the sesame seeds on a broetchen and all kinds of things like that. He always picks out the best parts and then he doesn't want it anymore.

I really have to say that he was a good boy today. He didn't sleep all day long though and by the end of the day he seemed like in a daze. My mom and I also got a good laugh when we let him walk around at ToysRus. He was in his stroller the whole time at the mall (about 3-4 hrs) so we wanted him to walk around a little. The minute he sat his foot on the ground, he was gone towards toys. The way he was running around was too funny though, with his boots on he looked like a little monkey running around. His arms were just flying in the air. He was so fast, pushing buttons on the toys, grabbing some stuffed animal and throwing it into the air, taking a book off the shelve and reading it on the floor. We really had to run, so he wouldn't cause any damage ;-)

My parents bought me some really nice and cute clothes. Thank you guys again!! I would've never bought that one blouse myself, because I'm too greedy when it comes to that. But now I own a Tommy Hilfiger top. Then a couple other tops at H&M. Of course those were the last things I needed. Actually I really need some new pants (something different from jeans) and a pair of shoes,... but I always end up getting tops. How come?

I'm happy, because I went to the jewlery store and had my wedding bands cleaned and now they're all bright and shiny again.

I also used my gift certificate for a book store and bought a novel of Stephenie Meyer. I can't wait to get started on reading it. I just don't know when I'll start. Just last week I got a new order from Amazon, because I was out off nice stuff to read. So I bought six new books. Most of them were thrillers. Don't ask me why, but I'm just in the mood for thrillers right now. It doesn't do me any good though, because I can't sleep too good lately. It takes me a while to fall asleep.

Alrighty, I guess that's all i can say for today.

Just for Kerstin (noahsjunamama) ;-)

Okay so tonight I sat down and thought about all the things that Lucas is saying and doing. I might have forgotten something, but that's all I could think of right now. Like I said he understands EVERYTHING, really. Sometimes he still astonishes me, because I don't think he understands it all. But I guess that's just because sometimes he just doesn't want to understand, because he wants it his way... hahah

Here are the words

Mama - of course but he also uses the word a lot when he wants something or somebody to do something for him....

Dida - Daddy (he used to say daddy and all of a sudden he changed it around to dida) he also uses it for Danke/Bitte - thank you and you're welcome

Dadida - Daniel (my brother)

Mamima - Marius (my other brother)

Oooooooooooooo - Oma and Opa

Rara - Sara (his girlfriend) I only hear that word about 100 times a day

Nina - Ninja (my cousin)

Awo/Aua - Hallo

Hi - Hi

Nein - nein - no

Ha ja - Ja - yes

Ba Ba - bye bye, ball or for something nasty that he shouldn't touch

Babiba - Badewanne

Li - Licht - light

Hei - heiss - hot

Ka - kalt - cold

Na - Nase - nose

Ha - Haare - hair

Mooo - Mond - moon

Neeeee - Schnee - snow

Mu - Mund - mouth

bobo - popo - butt

hue - voegel - birds

Aua - Auge - eye

Bau - Bauch - stomach

diiii - Tee - tea

Ba - Bagger

and he can say car really cleary and that only about a hundred times a day as well. I guess it lies in the family.. hahah it's genetically

When I ask him, he shows me his hair, eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, tongue, stomach, butt, feet and hands

When I ask him for animals, he makes the sounds for dogs, cats, cows, pigs, snakes, birds, our bunny, tigers, lions and so on. Ususally he doesn't try to name the animals. When I ask him to say the name, he just makes the sounds they do.

Okay, that's all I could think of right now. It shall be continued in the future, if I don't get too lazy again writing things down ;-)

Happy Valentine's Day, Baby!

Brian, we love you so much. We just wanted to tell you that we're so proud of you and thank you so much for everything you're doing. We miss you more than words can say.

I found this little poem and thought it fit quite well to our situation ;-)

This Valentine's I wish that you were with me.
It's lonelier than most days I'm alone,
Even though we'll manage on the phone
To touch with words the face we cannot see.
You away are far more dear to me
Than anyone who might remain at home.
My love is in the places that you roam,
Being with you where I cannot be.
We do not choose the objects of our passion,
But passively await the holy fire
That immolates our past and lights our fate,
Twisting through the alleys of desire.
So I am yours, and will contented wait,
Allowing love my life and will to fashion

Loving you forever and ever!!!!!!!!!! Saskia & Lucas

What we've been up to during the past four weeks

So I thought it's about time to blog on here again. Somehow I have to get back into the mood to write here more often. I'm not used to be on the computer anymore... hahah. So where do I start? My computer is finally back workin and what happened, was that the energy box was broken. It always turned off after about 15 minutes. So we have a new energy box and now it's working all fine again.
Not much happened here on our side though. Of course we're still trying to stay busy during the day so they pass by really quickly. Lucas is a little rugrat of course. He talks more now and I know that he understands everything. Two weeks ago he learnt to say his girlfriend's name and now that's what I hear all day long. Whenever we go some place he asks me "Rara???" (- Sara) When the doorbell rings he says her name or even when I guess he's bored and wants to do something fun, he asks for her like I should take him to her place so he can play with her. ;-p
Oh yeah and he has a new word for bathtub - babiba (- badewanne in german). Maybe I should post a list with all the things he says another time.

January was a pretty weird month. I had a lot of down times concerning the deployment. I guess it was also because the weather has been so gloomy and all. But I'm better now and hopefully those next months will pass by really fast!

As for now, Lucas and I are both a little sick with a cold. I've been feeling very drained for four days now and I hope it will go away soon. Lucas has a runny nose but seems to be okay other than that.

I can't really recall what we all did, so I thought I should let pictures speak for themselves

Lucas on my brithday last Sunday. He was drinking OJ out of a champagne glass. Of course nobody was allowed to take it away from him for the first hour we were at the restaurant. It just looked hilarious.

Kissy-time at grandma and grandpa's house

Giving Mama a kiss. That was before my haircut though. It is A LOT shorter now

At the indoor sandplayground, Luisenpark Mannheim

Baby meet-up at Sara's house in January. That Lucas playing with Luisa

Give me the camera NOWWW....

His favorite toy of all times... the couch. He's climbing and jumping up on off it all day long

Finally a picture where he doesn't make a face because he wants the camera

In the laundry basket with his buddy, a big stuffed dog

Now Mama has to make the bed around or I better say on top of Lucas.....

He found one of Daddy's work hats

Whenever Mama folds the laundry, Lucas takes a clothing piece out and puts it over his head...

Mama quit taking pictures now

I want the CAMERA!!!!!!!!!!

Would you believe it?!?!?!

I'm back online!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY, so just on time for my birthday I'm back online. Wow, it's been almost four weeks since my last real internet session that lasted longer than 15 mins. So just give me a couple of days now to get updated and all and I'll be back blogging soon as well.
