An exciting Sunday afternoon for Lucas

Yesterday, my parents and their friends decided to walk from Bruehl to Ketsch to the "Leistungsschau" (basically some local businesses were there to present their services). It was the warmest day of this year, so far. I really wanted to spent most of the afternoon outside with Lucas, so we decided to join them. I'm not really used to walk that far anymore, nedless to say to sports of any kind... hahah. So it was really nice, but also a little exhausting at times. Lucas had a blast of course, as we passed horses and goats and saw all kinds of vehicles like tractors etc.

Most of the show was being held inside a hall. Lucas was going crazy when we passed one stand that had a big remote truck standing there. He wanted to get off my arms and play with it right away. Then we let him walk for a little and he started taking off. He ran straight towards something and didn't care about all the feet around him. All of a sudden we saw, that he was going for a poster that had some cars printed on it. He was hilarious! Even other people stopped, watched him and laughed at him. He started shouting and talking to the cars. We just had to stop him, because all of a sudden he ripped a little part of the poster. Thankfully the men that worked at the stand were busy with customers and didn't see it.

The most exciting thing of all, was the helicpoter outside the hall that took off and landed about every 10 minutes though. Lucas was really fascinated and couldn't close his mouth anymore. He wanted everyone to go outside with him. First he asked me, then he wanted to go on Bettina's arms and told her "hubo" (Hubschrauber - helicopter), so she went out with him. Then it was grandpa's turn and on and on it went. I forgot to take a pic of that though.

When we walked back home, Lucas was little fuzzy in the stroller, but about halfway back, he finally gave in and was hanging in there really beat.

Look Mama, CARSSSSSS

Soooo thirsty, but Mama knows I just want it, because I can actually drink out of the bottle

Street Carnival in Ketsch (Strassenfastnacht)

This afternoon, we went to the Street Carnival in Ketsch. On Thursday Carnival Parties started all over in Germany and it goes on until Wednesday, next week. So today, they had the street parade in Ketsch. I really wanted to go for Lucas and also because it's always fun to go and sometimes I see people again, that I haven't seen in years. They also have one at my old hometown, but it will be on Tuesday around 1 pm and that's usually Lucas' sleeping time. So we decided to go today, even though it was pretty rainy and windy today. But it wasn't too bad, as we were able to stand underneath an entrance of a butcher.

I had to wake Lucas up from his afternoon nap and of course he was a little crappy because of that. And when he saw all those people dressed up, singing and dancing, he got really confused. At first he didn't recognize my dad with that weird hair he had on his hat and he wouldn't go on my dad's or my mom's arm for the first thirty minutes or so.

We also had a very nice surprise, as Marion and her cute little girls also came. She's a friend from my Germanspouses Forum. I told her that we'd probably come and so she came as well. By the end of the parade another friend of ours, Jutta, also stopped by. So that was really nice.

Lucas warmed up a little once the parade started. At first he saw the police with the lights going on and off and he was all excited telling me "tueta tueta" And then most of the vehicles had a tractor in front. He really loved that a lot.

My brother Daniel, still awake from the day before...

What's coming next???

Don't leave me alone with those weird people, Mama

Lucas and his cars

It all started on Wednesday. I left Lucas with my mom, while I drove to Mannheim to do some things at the mailroom on post. When I came back, my mom told me that Lucas was a very good boy and playing all by himself the whole time. She said, he would take all the cars he could find and row them all up.

During the past couple of days, he continued doing that and practically he's doing it all day long in every room I go.

Yesterday morning he took some of his cars into the bathroom while I got dressed

Last night he did this until he had to go to bed

And by this morning he finally found most of his cars. I'm really wondering where he got the idea to put them all in a row like this. Maybe it's because the Lego Duplo cars connect that way.

While I hung up the wet clothes on the hanger, he took some cars into the bedroom

Having some Picture Fun in the morning

This morning I thought it was about time for some new pic of the two of us for Brian. Of course I will never get the picture perfect by taking them myself... But oh well... just see for yourself ;-)

Mama, fall over already

Haha, I bet I can wrestle you down, Mama
YAY, I got you

The pictures I take of myself always look stupid, but those should have to do for now Brian. At least you can see me this way ;-) I love you
