Dang these infections...

It hit us again. Lucas started running a temperature on Sunday. He was sick like a dog and even took a nap. The next day he seemed to do a little better, but woulnd't eat anything. He was whining a lot and his eyes practically shut close at dinnertable around 6 pm. We didn't really know what he was developing, since he didn't have a runny nose or anything like that. At first I thought it might be an ear infection, but it wasn't. The next morning I thought I knew the problem. He actually wanted to eat something. A kiwi. As soon as he ate the last spoon it all came back out. He seemed to be better throughout the day though. He was in bed at 6.30 pm again, which hasn't happened ever since we moved out of our old apartment in Germany. But the day after he was eating more again. Just the whining was still there.
This morning we woke up and I had a real sore and slimy throat. Lucas is having the same thing, so no wonder he is whining. We both feel like crap with shivers and such. Just hoping this damn infection will be over soon again.
And no you are not imaginating. We have been sick at least once a month ever since we moved to Fort Drum. Whereas Lucas usually had a little cold or such every four months, here it is every month. From what I hear it is normal in this area. At least all the Army people that aren't local. I guess the only cure for us would be a plane ticket back to Germany. Man!!! I can't wait for summer to come and hopefully this will help getting better and not catching every stupid infection that is out there.

Lucas dancing

A few pictures from the past weeks

So here's a few pictures that I totally forgot to post.

Easter Sunday. We got Lucas a sandbox and a bench (this year he got a bigger gift, since we wanted to get him a sandbox for the backyard anyway)

A box from Germany! YAY, indulging in his favorite candy ever!

It's a BOY

Yesterday we had the big ultrasound and luckily our little one wasn't shy and showed all his pride. Yes, it's a little brother for Lucas :-)
Everything seems to be right where it's supposed to be and he is a very active one. While the ultrasound techician tried her best to get a shot of his spine, he was rolling and moving all over. We were in there for over an hour and got quite a few nice shots of him.

This is what they call the 'scary face'

The whole baby curled up

his nice long leg

his profile, which already ressembles Lucas

a shot from underneath his face. you can see the open mouth and the nose

Almost settled in

We have been busy unpacking and arranging our household good since last week. We are almost done now. The only room that still needs some finishing is the baby's room (we kinda just packed all the boxes for the baby in there without unpacking anything), but we still have time for that. As for things that we still need, we are almost set as well. Everything else, we can always get at a later time.

As of yesterday we have wonderful weather here. It's really, really warm and of course we try to spend every minute possible outside. Brian bought a grill yesterday, so you know what we are going to eat tonight. We also got a sandbox and a little bench with a table for Lucas. He won't get it before Easter. It's a huge Easter gift and nothing we would normally get him, but since we wanted to get him a sandbox anyway, that's what it is for Easter then. Can't wait for Sunday to come. I really hope that the weather will stay nice and warm.

So here is a few pictures that I took this past week.

The baby is growing and growing. This is the belly at 18 weeks

We painted some Easter Eggs and put some stickers on them

They aren't too pretty as they were brown ones, but at least they are organic and Lucas had a blast putting the stickers on them. He wanted to eat one really bad. I peeled an egg for him, only to find out that he thought it was chocolate inside and didn't even want to take a bite, when he saw what was in it.

Always watching the neighbors

YAY, I got my new Senseo coffee machine

I just love my new dryer and washing machine!!!

our living room is way too small for our couch and the big screen
