Almost settled in

We have been busy unpacking and arranging our household good since last week. We are almost done now. The only room that still needs some finishing is the baby's room (we kinda just packed all the boxes for the baby in there without unpacking anything), but we still have time for that. As for things that we still need, we are almost set as well. Everything else, we can always get at a later time.

As of yesterday we have wonderful weather here. It's really, really warm and of course we try to spend every minute possible outside. Brian bought a grill yesterday, so you know what we are going to eat tonight. We also got a sandbox and a little bench with a table for Lucas. He won't get it before Easter. It's a huge Easter gift and nothing we would normally get him, but since we wanted to get him a sandbox anyway, that's what it is for Easter then. Can't wait for Sunday to come. I really hope that the weather will stay nice and warm.

They aren't too pretty as they were brown ones, but at least they are organic and Lucas had a blast putting the stickers on them. He wanted to eat one really bad. I peeled an egg for him, only to find out that he thought it was chocolate inside and didn't even want to take a bite, when he saw what was in it.

Lebenszeichen

Jetzt werde ich mir zwar bestimmt einen Rueffel einholen, da ich heute mal nur in Deutsch schreibe, aber was soll's. ;-) Alles was in den letzten 2 Monaten war, weiss die Schwiegerfamilie eh schon und der Rest der noch nicht ganz auf dem neuesten Stand ist, spricht deutsch.

Wir sind inzwischen in unserer neuen Heimat - Fort Drum New York - angekommen und uns geht es super. Aber dazu gleich mehr.

Drei Wochen lang haben wir Urlaub in Minnesota gemacht, was schoen, aber oft auch etwas langweilig war. Langweilig, weil es nicht allzu viel fuer Lucas und mich zu tun gab und bei dem Wetter konnten wir oft auch nicht raus. Brian war oefter Eisfischen somit gab es auch ein bis zweimal in der Woche Fisch. Wir haben die Verwandten besucht, sind shoppen gegangen, sind wie jedes Mal zur Mal America und haben dort das Aquarium besucht und so weiter. Ich habe nicht wirklich fotografiert, da meine Kamera die Reise dann doch nicht ueberlebt hat. Sie ist schon in Deutschland auseinandergefallen, dass ich sie einmal kleben musste.
Nichtsdestotrotz haben wir trotzdem ein paar Bilder bekommen. Die Seite von Brian's Vater hatte ein Familientreffen einberufen und dort wurden an die 100 Bilder in allen verschiedenen Konstelationen geknipst.

In Minnesota haben wir dann gleich in den ersten Tagen unseren neuen Van gekauft. Haben einen super Deal bekommen (Dodge Van 2008) und haben immer noch bumper to bumper Garantie drauf.

Am 6. Maerz sind wir dann morgens los gefahren. 3 Tage Autofahrt mit 2 Uebernachtungen (Wisconsin und Ohio). Es war etwas anstregend fuer Lucas, aber es ging.

Nun sind wir 10 Tage hier in Fort Drum und es gefaellt uns bisher super. Der Schnee ist weg und es wird langsam waermer. Wir hatten ganz viel Glueck und schon nach einer Woche die Schluessel zu unserem neuen Zuhause uebereicht bekommen. Allerdings koennen wir erst in einer Woche einziehen, da dann erst unser Hab und Gut aus Deutschland geliefert werden kann. Wir koennen aber von Glueck reden, dass wir nur 2 Wochen im Hotel verbringen muessen. Manche Familien warten Monate auf ein Haus. Nichtsdestotrotz haben wir das Kofferleben richtig satt. Nicht nur das, auch das ganze Restaurant-Essen und was ich eh noch nie leiden konnte - Mikrowellenessen. Wir freuen uns schon so sehr auf unser erstes selbstgekochtes Mahl im neuen Heim.

Unser neues Haus ist im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes brandneu. Im Moment ist hier noch eine grosse Baustelle, da noch weitere hunderteHaeuser gebaut werden, wegen Truppenaufbau. Trotzdem kann man sich gluecklich schaetzen, wenn man eines der neuen Haeuser abbekommt. Hier zaehlen naemlich Faktoren wie Rang, Kinderzahl etc. mit.
Im Vergleich zu unserer alten Wohnung werden wir nun richtig verwoehnt. Mit einem 3 bedroom Haus, 2 einhalb Baeder, Wohnzimmer, offene Kueche mit Esszimmer, Wasckueche, Garage und Garten hintenraus. Bilder werde ich jetzt gleich noch einstellen, allerdings in einem extra Post mit Englischen Untertiteln ;-)

Unser Plan fuer die naechsten Tage ist wie folgt:

Wochenende - verschiedene Elektroartikel kaufen und langsam unsere Koffer in das neue Haus umziehen

Montag - unser neues Bett, Kommode und Nachttisch wird geliefert

Dienstag - Telefon, Internet und Kabelfernseh wird verlegt. Wir ziehen vom Hotel ins Haus

Mittwoch - muessen wir noch fuellen

Donnerstag - unser Hab und Gut wird endlich geliefert und ausgepackt. Neue Waschmaschine und Trockner werden geliefert.

Our life sure has been crazy in these past couple of weeks

I just wanted to see what my last post was about and realized that I haven't written any news in a very long time.

The biggest news first. WE ARE EXPECTING AGAIN. Our newest family member is due around September 1st, so maybe even an August baby.

On January 10th we moved in with my parents, because the day after the mover came and packed our apartment. Unfortunately I had to go to the hospital that day, because I had bleedings. It was a very scary and nerve-wrecking time for us. I had to stay in the hospital for five days and was on strict bedrest. The first two days they weren't even sure where the bleedings where coming from and told me straight out that this might have a bad ending. On the third day they found a haemathoma in my uterus. The bleedings stopped but they told me that it might start again, as long as it's still there.

So I got to go home on the 5th day but still had to rest a lot. So far it's been ok. Last weekend some bleedings started again, but it's old blood, which they said is ok and even good. That way the haemathoma is slowly dissolving itself. My next doc appointment will be next Monday, so we shall see if it's gotten smaller! Keep your fingers crossed. Oh yeah so tomorrow I will be in my 10th week of pregnancy.

However, yesterday I woke up and couldn't open my eyes... I kinda guessed that it might be pink eye. So today I went to the doctor and of course I was right. She prescribed me an antibiotic cream for my eyes. I was kinda worried but she assured me once again that the little amount that they eye is taking of these antibiotics won't harm the baby.
Brian went to the doctor as well this morning, because his eye was red and swollen and they told him it's a bacterial infection. So we will be disinfecting our hands a lot these days, in order to prevent another infection within the family.

Oh yes, I also had my visa interview last week. It went really, really well. i never thought it would be that fast and they didn't even give us a hard time with the questions. I should have my papers this week!!

We also bought the plane tickets for February 10th. We weren't sure if i was able to fly that early with Brian due to the bleedings and everything, which is why we waited that long. But the doctor said I should be fine, unless something happens in the meantime.
