Back in Germany

Last night, we made it back home. Our week in Egypt went by pretty fast. It was really nice and we had a very good time. Of course I took a bunch of pictures for you Brian. I will upload some of them tomorrow. Lucas had a wonderful time as well of course and loved the water and for sure all the SAND hahah

Anyhow, I just wanted to let you all know, that we made it back in one piece. I will write more about the whole trip in the next couple of days. Now I have to go and get back on track with all of you guys and tomorrow I have to start washing and cleaning ;-)

A shitty night and some good news at last!!

Last night was a nightmare. If I didn't know it any better, I'd say it was a full moon.

So as all of you know, Lucas doesn't sleep during the day anymore. Usually he sleeps pretty well at nighttime then. Of course he wakes up every once in a while, but goes back to sleep easily.
Yesterday I thought he was pretty drained after a nice playdate with Sara and was sure he'd sleep well at night. Right?!? I put him to bed at seven. Around 8.30pm he woke up. At first I didn't think anything bad, as it happened before. I was on the computer and went in to give him his paci. But he eventually started crying. I went off the computer, as I thought that might be his problem.... the comptuer is in front of his room and I thought me typing might bother him. He still cried and I went in every five minutes to calm him. I was trying to read, but of course that didn't go well. After about half an hour I finally decided that I should go to bed as well and put him in my bed.... Wrong decision.... Of course he was calm and happy then. But he started being all over me, in my hair and rolling all over the bed. He did that until 1.30 am!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the meantime I put him back into his bed twice... Always ending up with him crying for about 20 minutes. I felt bad and got him back and he did the same stuff again. I was so tired. After all he finally went to sleep in his own bed with the third try. So Mama and boyo actually got a little sleep... Of course he was awake by 6.30 again...

One thing really got me the creeps... Around midnight Lucas all of a sudden started talking. He said "Daddy, Auto, Auto, Truck, Truck" and I ain't shitting you... five minutes later my phone rang with an unknown number (just like Brian).... I hurried to the phone and when I answered, all I heard was some screeching noise and nothing else. I worried sick, cause I thought it was some kind of bad omen or something. I always think too much about stupid things when Brian is gone and being sleep deprived didn't help any either....

Today was pretty busy, but also ended with a few happy endings. Around 10 am we met up with Beata and Sara at the indoor playground thingy at the furniture store. The kids had their fun and as Lucas played a lot without Mama's help, I could calm down a little, too. We went over for lunch at my parent's house and then I left Lucas with my mom to go to the hairdresser's.
Lucas actually slept 2 hours of the 2 and a half hours I was gone. My Mom went for a walk with him and she bought him a snack in a store. Lucas started eating it and one minute later, my Mom found him asleep with the snack hanging out of his mouth in the stroller hahahah

Brian finally called me tonight and I was totally relived to hear that he's all fine. Very good news at last!!!!!!!!! He's able to come home a week earlier for RnR. He switched with another lady that wanted to go a little later. So I'm totally thrilled about that. Just the way I was hoping for. Also he got the full 18 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!

Today in a week....

we will be in Egypt. I can't believe that it's already time for our vacation with my parents and my brothers. Of course I'm a little chicken thinking about bomb attacks and stuff that recently happened in Egypt. But I'm positive that we will be all fine and nothing will happen. I really can't wait for this week. It seems like it's been forever that I was on a trip like this. Don't get me wrong, I love going to Minnesota very much and I always have a great time there, but I also missed going to the beach or just relaxing for a full week in a place like this. The last time I went somewhere beachy was about 7 years ago, when I was 18 and that was a year before I met Brian. I really wish we could take Brian with us and I still have a bad conscience that he's down range, while we have a good time there. But he'll be with us on our minds. And whenever he gets home, we'll go somewhere as well!

I'm also excited to go with my family. It's been 8 years, since the whole family went on a vacation together. It will probably be the last time, too, at least for a while - thining about the fact, that we will move this coming year and who knows where my brothers will be in the future or if they would still be up to go on a vacation with my parents.

Yeah, so I looked up pictures of the Hotel we'll be going to and it looks fantastic! Just take a look for yourself!

I know Brian would get a kick out of this pool bar ;-) I'll be thinking of you baby, when I take a drink there

I defninately can't wait for the good food and especially breakfast!!
So this coming week I'll have to get a few things still in order to have everything ready for the vacation. I'm very grateful that Beata, Karsten and Sara are taking my baby Hazel for the time we're gone. Usually my parents are the ones that take him, when we go somewhere.
Friday night, the taxi will pick us up around midnight *I really don't want to know in what kind of a mood Lucas will be then* - just keep your fingers crossed that Lucas will still sleep a lot in the car, on the airport and maybe even on the flight.

RnR Dates

Today, Brian finally called with some good news. They told him his RnR dates. We always knew it would be around June, but they had to wait until a couple of week prior to the RnR. I was hoping he could be home a little earlier, but he should arrive in Germany around the 21st and 22nd of June. I so can't wait!!! Now we can finally start looking at things we want to do and maybe even book something. We just want to get away for four days, as we also have lots of things we have to get done anyhow. We were thinking about CenterParks or Edelweiss or maybe even something completely different. I really don't care what, as long as Brian and Lucas are happy.

Regarding the fact that Brian went down range 3 months later than his unit, he doesn't get the full amount of leave day. It is okay for me, because I think it's only fair to the other people that actually have to spend 15 months in the desert and apart from their loved ones. For 15 months it should be 18 days and they cut him down to 15 days, so that's still good to me ;-) better than nothing at all. I already had the fear, that they would tell him, he won't get any leave at all.

Just for Carolin!!! Baehaehae

Guck mal Caro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I already thought they wouldn't even come this year! During the past couple of years we had sheep right next to our house. They are moving about every five days or so, all over the fields. They have them out all spring usually. Last year they were here, when Caro and Kerstin came for a visit. So when we came home yesterday afternoon, we were very happy to see them back here. It's so nice to wake up in the morning, opening the windows and hear them 'baehaehe'.
Lucas was like "baeh" all morning and told me that they needed food... I guess that was his attempt to make me go outside with him... hahah

Puzzle

One of his favorite things to do lately!!

Alle meine Entchen

About two weeks ago we found out that Lucas actually knows the words to some songs that we're singing him I'll see if I can make a better video another day.... he didn't want to sing, but just look at videos.
